Alternative Therapies, P.C.

All About Terrie Browning

Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Forensic Consultant, Distance Credentialed Counselor, Masters Degree in Science of Psychology, with specialization in Counseling Psychology.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor I provide psychological services to individuals, couples, marriage and families online and at my private practice, Alternative Therapies now located in the Lakes Psychiatric Center in the Lakes Medical Center at Pontiac Trail and M5. At Alternative Therapies, I use goal oriented therapies to assist clients who feel stuck in their life, need to resolve past issues and move forward to obtain balance in their lives.

I strive to assist clients in finding solutions to their problems, making necessary life changes to improve relationships both personal and professional. Using many modalities to help clients experience increased communication skills, self esteem, gain a sense of fulfillment and feel balance. Many of my clients comment on how quickly they feel at ease and are surprised how quickly they build trust in a secure and confidential environment. Our time together should be open, productive, and secure. Always feel free to ask me anything.

Certified in court testimony as a Certified Forensic Consultant, I provide evaluations, assessments and work as liaison to court and school officials.

My past experience in a low economical, high crime environment allowed me the opportunity to work with families in crisis.  I worked with high risk families, specializing in domestic violence, violence prevention, and working with women and children within the Women’s Emergency Shelters. These experiences allowed me the chance to work with post traumatic stress victims, sexually abused victims, family/group dysfunction, and self esteem issues among others.

Within the school system, I specialized in violence prevention, crisis intervention, and peer mediation. I monitored student behavior, observed and diagnosed students as emotionally impaired, ADHD, Autism, Aspergers, and ODD, among others.

At Maplegrove Treatment and Educational Center I worked as a program facilitator to both children and adults specializing in Alcohol and Drug abuse education.

In private practice, I have the opportunity to work with Bi-polar and Borderline Personality disorders, depression, Post Traumatic Stress, sexual abuse, ADHD, ODD, self growth, self esteem issues, family mediation, marriage and couples counseling.

Providing late night appointments, as well as mornings and Saturdays, we are here to help you find solutions.
